Along with my groovy OOTD, I fixed up my widow’s peak and brought the death hawk out to play today. I’m feeling pretty feisty. Hehehe. :D

that drawing a character with a different heritage doesnt mean you just change their skin tone. its about parts of their features that are accentuated like noses and cheekbones and lips.

Connor Kenway, for example.

a lot of people i see are making an effort on the skin color (which is awesome!) but the fact is you cant just draw your typical Western European face and make it a lot darker and call it a day. he has a broad nose, full lips, and very distinct cheek and jawlines.

and these are things that you cant just say is a “stylistic” approach. you should make an actual effort to portray the character with their heritage in mind.you cant excuse blatantly ignoring a person’s identity and actual physical features and instead accredit it to your style. because thats not gonna fly. there is a huge difference between style and just entirely disregarding physical features.
