Weekend review…

July 11th, 2010

So I had a rather interesting weekend, one that was filled with 90% happiness and 10% crap. Not a bad balance, really. I decided I needed a break from the stress and the headaches of trying to balance work with my commissions with my other life responsibilities. SO, I decided to cater to me for a little while.

On Saturday, I went shopping. I drove to Walmart first since I needed some new sports bras. The ones I had were getting too stretched out. I did some looking around in the clothing section, too. I found a pair of jeans that fit like they were painted on me. The tag said $11. I get to the register… they were actually $3. Pay dirt, baby!

My good luck just kept on coming. I found an adorable shirt at Forever 21 for $5. It’s a light pink baby-T with this awesome black lace & feather collar. I also bought an adorable bathing suit style baby-T at Hollister for $5, as well. At Claire’s, I got a killer-looking hat with this trippy skull & crossbones pattern, and I finally bought Devil May Cry 4.

I came home to find that Audi was in a very pleasant mood, and we had quite the wonderful afternoon together. To continue this spirit of cheer and content, I decided to order our favorite pizza; a Papa Johns extra large pizza with extra cheese, pepperoni, italian sausage, and roma tomatoes. This time around, though, the hubby wanted black olives on one half, as well. Really, the night just continued to get better and better.

On Sunday, our friends Arthur and Ellen had a baptism for their baby girl, Abigail. There was a mass first, then the baptism, then there would be a party at Arthur & Ellen’s house. The event went by pretty smoothly, until Audi got mad at an innocent joke I made. Ugh. From there the drama started. Luckily, it was confined to about an hour, and some heavy discussion back at our apartment. Finally, I convinced him to go to the party, stating that there are more impprtant things to worry about than our dumb fight over a dumb joke. His spirit and attitude certainly appeared to lighten up as the party progressed. After we got home, he was back to his happy, loving self. =]

Right now, I am typing this up using my WordPress iPhone app. So, if there’s any mistakes, that’s why. lol. But anyway, I have to go nite nite now.

Ciao!

………Yep.

That title means “I couldn’t think of a title”. Clever, huh?

I am EXHAUSTED. I don’t think I’ve stopped moving in the last 3-4 weeks. It’s always something keeping me busy or something I want to do because it’s the only free time I’ll have available. =/ On the one hand, this is good, especially since I have a job that pays pretty well.  On the other hand, it leaves me feeling drained and depressed. I get home and I honestly don’t want to do anything except vegetate. However, I do LIVE for the weekends. Is that sad? To feel like you’re wasting your life away just waiting for the weekend to arrive? *sigh*

Anyway, speaking of weekends, this past Saturday was rather… interesting, to say the least. My neighbors (bf + gf) invited me and the hubby to go out to a bar and get our drink on. The beginning of the night was great! And thennnnn, it all started going downhill. My female neighbor got a little too intoxicated and basically started grinding up on every person she could find on the dancefloor. Even though I was half in the bag as it was, my buzz was basically killed by the fact that I had to babysit her so she wouldn’t make a total fool of herself. I was embarrassed, quite honestly.  I kept having to reassure her  boyfriend that I was taking care of her. Eventually, the night stopped being fun. The hubby and I decided it was time to go home. The minute I got home, I went straight to bed. I had a lovely buzz going on, and I’m honestly surprised I didn’t throw up. LOL. By the next morning, though, I was fine.

So yea, little lesson for y’all out there… friends don’t let friends get stupid drunk. =|

Anyway, on a much lighter note, I watched Inuyasha: The Final Act on Hulu, and it was SO WORTH THE WAIT. At long last, the story of Inuyasha is concluded, and HOW! It was so amazing to see all my favorite scenes from the manga animated at last. But I think the very best part of Inuyasha has always been the music. The background music they create and choose for each scene is just perfect every time, and it just melts me every time. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that they use that ancient Japanese style of music. It’s just so mysterious and spooky, yet romantic at the same time.

As for other anime news, any and all fans of Bleach out there who are caught up on the latest episodes should be very happy that we’re going back to the main storyline this week!  YES! About frickin’ time, right? Mind you, the Zanpaktou filler arc, for me, was actually pretty damn good, and Muramasa instantly became one of my favorite Bleach characters. But I am dying, DYING to see the big battle between Ichigo and Ulquiorra. *SQUEE* :D That was my fangirl squeal in case you couldn’t tell. Haha.’

Anyway, I’m off to maybe watch some more anime or play some video games. Ciao!

It’s aliivvveee!!!

No, not really. In fact, that title has nothing to do with the entry. It was just the first thing that popped into my head. Haha.

I do have some very good news, though; my Leeloo outfit is complete! Huzzah! I managed to get the boots today, which were the very last thing I needed. There’s a funny story attached to them, too. I drove around to a buttload of Goodwills, hoping to just find some cheap boots that could work. I found one pair, but they were a little small on me, so I passed on buying them. Finally, after driving around for about an hour, I thought to myself, “I’m gonna try Walmart as a last resort”… Obviously, I had assumed that I wasn’t going to find diddly squat there. Lo and behold, I find a pair of boots that are EXACTLY what I was looking for, only in vinyl instead of leather. The price? $15. Walmart is literally 5 MINUTES AWAY. *sigh* The irony of life, huh?

Since the Halloween party is this Saturday, I’ll most likely have pics from the party on Sunday or Monday.

Some mirandaadria.com news!! Soon there will be a lot of artwork updates, including a new gallery exhibition update! One of the books I made for my book-making class in my final semester is going to be part of a book exhibition at the New World Gallery. So, if you’re in the downtown Miami area, you should definitely go check it out! :D The gallery is located on the first floor of the New World School of the Arts building, near the Miami-Dade Community College Wolfson Campus.

I’ve almost beaten “The Darkness”. The game is so much fun. However, I know there’s a lot of things I missed, so I’ll most likely play it a few more times just to get everything done the right way. :)

Erm, gee, I don’t really have a lot more to say, so… ciao!

Blog-a-holic.

July 25th, 2009

I’ve been in this blogging mood lately. I want to write a new blog all the time, even when I have absolutely nothing of value to share or talk about. Hah. Anyone else get like that? Maybe? Sort of?…. Ah, never mind.

Well, today I drove up to Ft. Lauderdale to meet up with my friend, Chris. They were throwing a party for his little sister, Carly, in this awesome beach house. I didn’t go into the water or the pool, since I didn’t bring a bathing suit. I don’t feel comfortable wearing a bathing suit anyway. I want to lose weight first. =P I took a few pictures of the beach, and of Carly blowing out the candles.

Audi and I are making plans to move in together, and hopefully it will be within the next few months. In the meantime, I’m looking for sources of income while he looks at apartments around his area. I’m actually really excited about finally living with Audi. I didn’t think I would be, but the prospect of waking up next to him every morning makes me feel really happy. Let’s hope it stays that way after we get married. LOL.

I just found out through Facebook that one of my classmates from NWSA just got her diploma in the mail. That means very soon, I may be receiving mine, too! :D I became worried, thinking that maybe I wasn’t going to receive mine. So,  I went online to my school’s site, and it said that I had met all my requirements. *shrug* I suppose I just need to wait until next week.

And a quick update on the books I’m reading: I am close to finishing TheGothic: Documents in Contemporary Art, and I’ve finished reading the first book from the Den of Shadows Quartet. I actually REALLY enjoyed it! I thought the writing was great, the plot was original, and the language used was impressive. Good job, Amelia! ;)

Anyway, enough of that. Ciao!

First post of 2009!1!1!!

January 1st, 2009

Big fucking deal.

So the party was pretty fun, except for a few moments here and there that, quite frankly, aren’t worth mentioning. There was a lot of food, family, friends, alcohol (of course), and best of all, Audi. He came to the party in an understandably bad mood (considering the events that had transpired before he arrived there), but eventually his mood lifted and he was able to enjoy the party more. After the “ball dropped” at midnight, everyone stayed at the party until about 2am or so. Audi wanted to stay a little longer, so naturally I stayed as well so I could spend time with him.

Last night, I got an important lesson on how the choices we make can affect the outcome of our lives. I was originally going to carpool with my friend Dustin and his wife Carolina. However, while I was sitting in their living room waiting for them to finish getting ready, I started thinking. “Hmm, what if Adiel decides to stay longer? What if I decide I want to leave earlier? What if…?” So, I asked Dustin if it would be all right if I just followed them to the party, rather than ride with them in their car. He said that was fine. Now, if I had chosen to carpool with them, I would have had to leave when they did. However, since I had chosen to go in my own car, I was able to stay at the party and stay with Audi.

It’s a good thing I had my car, too. When Audi finally wanted to head out, he said he was going to head over to Dave’s to pick up a few things. I asked if I could go over there with him, and he said that’d be fine. So, we both hopped into our cars and drove over there. When we arrived, he told he had decided to just drive back up to Tequesta, FL. I was a little bummed but… at the same time, I was still happy for the little extra time I got to spend with him. We loaded up his stuff, and then talked a little bit in the driveway until we both headed home.

I won’t be able to see him for a while. :( *sigh* It sucks when you miss someone you love, especially when you know that sometimes… that person doesn’t miss you, or even love you, in return.

Happy New Year… what a load of shit.

New Year’s Eve Resolutions are a joke.

December 30th, 2008

Yes, I said it. Resolutions are a fucking joke. At least, they are to me. I’ve given up on making resolutions for the supposed “new years” simply because I never end up completing them. Not for lack of trying, mind you. For example, a few years ago, I made a resolution to lose 30 pounds. I put myself on a diet regimen, I went to the gym 4 days a week, etc… I basically did everything by the book. Didn’t lose weight. I tried another diet regimen, different exercise routines, and still nothing. On the last plan I tried, I managed to actually lose 10 pounds… just to gain them back again a week later on the exact same strict regimen. As much as I try, this Latina simply can’t escape her gene pool.

And really… what is a new year anyway? It’s not like 2009 is likely the correct year anyway. We could very well be smack dab in the middle of the year 3065 for all we know! The calendar systems have been changed so many goddamn times that different cultures can’t even agree on what the correct DAY is, let alone the correct year.

But, despite all that, I do enjoy the celebrations that surround New Year’s Eve. Any excuse to drink some alcohol, shoot off fireworks, and throw a party is all right by me. Speaking of which, I was invited by my friends’ parents to join them for their New Year’s Eve party tomorrow. We’ll see how that goes, but I’m almost certain I’ll have a great time. I’m happy that I’ll get to see Audi again.

But anyway, back to resolutions. I’m sure that not many people will reply to this, but if you happen to read this… please, share your opinions on resolutions, or just call me a pessimistic bitch… whichever comes more naturally.

Three days of non-stop action.

December 28th, 2008

My God, I have been BUSY lately. I apologize for not sitting down and writing a blog (as if anyone is likely to comment on this anyway), but I have been moving and shaking from the 25th to the 27th. Here’s the (somewhat) quick rundown.
