Frickin’ duh!!

February 17th, 2010

So, I was wondering why so few people were commenting on my blogs, and I believe I found out the reason why. I had it set so that you had to be logged in to comment, which is really dumb because some people don’t have a blog of their own… So yea, hopefully now I will get more comments. Sorry, folks!

I came home from visiting the family on Sunday, and my hubby bought this huge pizza at Walmart for us to eat. Let me tell you, that thing is a monstrosity, but at a killer 8 bucks, it’s worth it. We had pizza for two days. If you wanna check it out, it’s MarketPlace’s 16″ pizzas.

I finished a mixed media piece last night that I am really proud of. You can see it here. I actually made it specifically so that I could enter it in Ballistic Publishing’s Call for Entries for their next publication, Exposé 8. I’m planning on making maybe one or two more to accompany the 6 I have already sent in. It’s funny, because I received an email (that was sent twice, btw) from the man who organizes the publication, and at the end it said, “Consider this a personal invitation to submit to our books.” I was like, “Whoa… maybe I should submit something, then!” Past experiences dictates that none of my shit will be chosen, since it seems they are much more interested in digital paintings and 3D renders, but we’ll see. Maybe this year will be different! (Hooray for being so frickin’ optimistic)

INTERMISSION

Right now I’m at my cousin’s house. She called me up a few hours ago saying she was really sick and needed to go to the hospital. Her mom, who lives with her, would take her, but neither of them wanted to leave my cousin’s kids at the house with just my grandmother. So, I had my hubby drop me off at her house, so that her mom could drive her over there and I could watch the kids. Finally, they’re all fast asleep. I’ve called my aunt several times, and it seems like my cousin is going to be fine, thank goodness.

I’m watching Adult Swim to pass the time, since I’m the only night owl in the house. Most likely I’ll just have to wait for the hubby to come pick me up. Heh.

Anyway, I’m pretty much done, so… ciao!

Goodness, my first blog entry.

December 17th, 2008

Voila! My first entry in my very first self-made (somewhat) blog! No more Livejournal or MySpace journals for me, boy. Hoorah! I had seen a bunch of sites with the “WordPress” copyright at the bottom, and became curious about making my very own blog on my own domain. I don’t know if I would have been able to make one when I was still using Malicia‘s subdomain, but I knew that with my own domain, I could definitely do it.

Thanks so much to WordPress for their ingenious coding and support.

One of the main reasons I wanted my own blog: Recently, a pixel club I’m a member of, the Quilting Bee, had an official Blog Day, where all the members wrote an entry talking about why and how much they love the club. I felt left out, since I didn’t have a real blog of my own. Another reason is that I grew tired of the massive amount of idiots I had to deal with on Livejournal. On my own blog, I have no rules. I can speak my mind freely (within reason) and not have to worry about being banned or removed for “bad behavior”. So suck on that, LJ admins!

I’ve spent most of my day just learning all the ins and outs of the coding WordPress uses. I think I am going to have to force myself to learn PHP, even though I am dreading it. But, you gotta do what you gotta do.

As for my personal life, I don’t want to divulge too much yet, since really… I don’t know what’s happening myself, really. All I’ll say is that I went to the doctor today for what may potentially be a serious problem. =P Here’s to hoping it’s nothing major and I’ll be just fine. ;)

Anyway, back to coding this thing. Woot.
