Just another manic weekend…

July 27th, 2010

Oh me, oh my… It has been one CRAZZZZYYY weekend! Let’s begin, shall we?

On Wednesday of last week, I found out it was going to cost another $300 to fix the new issue with my T-Bird. This was after I had the car towed from a friend’s house to my apartment, and then from my apartment to the mechanics. I was fed UP. I resolved at that moment that I wasn’t going to spend another dime on that possessed demon car. I needed to get a new car. What made the situation even more crazy was that Audi’s car was too low (too close to the ground), and with me in it, it only got worse. Thankfully, our friends who own a Trailblazer were out of town on a business trip, and they let us use their car while I got my own car problem solved. That helped immensely. Finally, Audi had no trouble driving me to work Thursday and Friday.

Here comes Saturday. We woke up pretty early, and I was ready to go car shopping. I had already noted a car I’d seen the night before on carmax.com. It was this GORGEOUS 2009 Chevy Cobalt in silver. I just knew from the moment I saw it that I wanted it. So on that morning, we called up Carmax in Boynton Beach, and asked about it. I’m going to condense the next part for you all: We were calling each other back and forth for nearly 8 HOURS. Audi had already driven to Carmax to meet up with the man I had spoken to on the phone, and to reassure him that I was on the way. When I finally made it to Boynton Beach to see and possibly buy the car, it was already 7:00pm. I was mentally and physically exhausted. But no… my night was nowhere near finished.

The paperwork that followed after my arrival took nearly 3 hours to finish. By this point, I was ready for some liquor… that or a very powerful sedative. Audi said I looked like I was about to go into a panic attack: I was nervous, twitching, and freaking out. LOL. And for damn good reason! I never realized buying a new car would be this nerve-wracking! But thankfully, the man who worked with us at Carmax was a fucking SAINT. Seriously, I never thought I’d meet a car salesman like that in my life. He was sweet, funny, and one of the most patient people ever. He stuck with us until I finally drove home in my new car at 10:30pm. Haha.

The next day came with the hassle of finishing up the insurance paperwork. I also needed to have my mother sign a power-of-attorney form so that she could sign the T-Bird over to me (the car was in her name) so that I could sell it to Carmax. Early Sunday morning, I drove all the way down to Miami (in my new car, teehee!), and after we finished doing everything we could (which wasn’t much, sadly), I hung out with my family. My nephew and brother were there, as well. Around 12:00pm, I started driving back home, but I had a few stops to make first. I needed to drop off the completed paperwork at Carmax, and then from there, I wanted to pass by my cousin’s house. Finally, around 6:00pm, I made it home.

So it’s been a bumpy road, but finally… FINALLY, I can rid myself of that damn car. No more memories, no more troubles, no more. Period. I can start anew with a new car, and in the process, continue breaking away from parts of my life that I don’t want to be reminded of anymore.

I’m gonna go get some shuteye now. Ciao!

Frickin’ duh!!

February 17th, 2010

So, I was wondering why so few people were commenting on my blogs, and I believe I found out the reason why. I had it set so that you had to be logged in to comment, which is really dumb because some people don’t have a blog of their own… So yea, hopefully now I will get more comments. Sorry, folks!

I came home from visiting the family on Sunday, and my hubby bought this huge pizza at Walmart for us to eat. Let me tell you, that thing is a monstrosity, but at a killer 8 bucks, it’s worth it. We had pizza for two days. If you wanna check it out, it’s MarketPlace’s 16″ pizzas.

I finished a mixed media piece last night that I am really proud of. You can see it here. I actually made it specifically so that I could enter it in Ballistic Publishing’s Call for Entries for their next publication, Exposé 8. I’m planning on making maybe one or two more to accompany the 6 I have already sent in. It’s funny, because I received an email (that was sent twice, btw) from the man who organizes the publication, and at the end it said, “Consider this a personal invitation to submit to our books.” I was like, “Whoa… maybe I should submit something, then!” Past experiences dictates that none of my shit will be chosen, since it seems they are much more interested in digital paintings and 3D renders, but we’ll see. Maybe this year will be different! (Hooray for being so frickin’ optimistic)

INTERMISSION

Right now I’m at my cousin’s house. She called me up a few hours ago saying she was really sick and needed to go to the hospital. Her mom, who lives with her, would take her, but neither of them wanted to leave my cousin’s kids at the house with just my grandmother. So, I had my hubby drop me off at her house, so that her mom could drive her over there and I could watch the kids. Finally, they’re all fast asleep. I’ve called my aunt several times, and it seems like my cousin is going to be fine, thank goodness.

I’m watching Adult Swim to pass the time, since I’m the only night owl in the house. Most likely I’ll just have to wait for the hubby to come pick me up. Heh.

Anyway, I’m pretty much done, so… ciao!
