Depeche Mode.

September 6th, 2009

So yes, I got to see THEM. <333 I went with my best friend Chris and my boyfriend Audi. Audi was able to go thanks to Chris’ uncle, who was giving away a ticket and I managed to snatch it up. ;D Unfortunately, he sat in a different section, but halfway through the show he came over to our section and sat in an empty seat near us. =)

Allow me to just say, first and foremost, Depeche Mode kicked my ass into next MONTH. They are so GOOD live. I think the only thing I enjoyed more than the music was watching Dave Gahan prancing around the stage like a woodland fairy tripping on acid.

The opening act was Peter Bjorn and John…. and that’s all I have to say about that, really.

As for the band I REALLY went to go see, HOLY SHIT. They were SO good. I’m grateful I even got to see them live once in my life. Thank goodness that one of my top 10 bands of all time is still out there performing live shows. *scratches one more off the list*

Here’s the setlist of the songs they played (thank you to whoever uploaded it to setlist.fm):

In Chains
Wrong
Hole to Feed
Walking in My Shoes
It’s No Good
A Question of Time
Precious
Fly on the Windscreen
Little Soul
A Question of Lust
Miles Away/The Truth Is
Policy of Truth
In Your Room
I Feel You
Enjoy the Silence
Never Let Me Down Again

Encore:
Shake The Disease
Stripped
Behind the Wheel

Encore 2:
Personal Jesus

I nearly fell out of my seat when I heard the intro to “Behind the Wheel”. I honestly didn’t think they would play that song. I’m a little sad that they didn’t play my favorite song, “Halo”, from the Violator album. But hell, they played a shitload of other songs that I adore, so I can’t complain too much. My view was pretty good also, considering I got my ticket when I did. Chris and I were sitting on one of the very first rows of the highest level, but we were to the left of the stage. So, even though we were high up, we could see them perfectly. =D I got some GREAT photos… and a little bit of video, too… *insert giggle* The audio is pretty shitty, anyway, so it doesn’t really matter. *shrug*

What really made the experience amazing was the crowd. It’s amazing to hear an entire stadium of people singing along with you to these kickass songs. And a few times during the performance, David Gahan walked up this runway that extended from the stage and prompted the audience to wave their arms. Wow. What a sight! To see a packed stadium all waving their arms in unison. Incredible. the lights and videos they used were equally as impressive. They had some amazing videos in the background that, in my opinion, fit perfectly with the music.

I’ve uploaded some of the best shots of the show. You can see more clearly what our view was.

Next show: KMFDM @ Respectable Street!! :D
*prepares to scratch another off the list*

I’m so excited!

July 28th, 2009

Tomorrow, I’m taking the train up to Jupiter to see Audi. :D YAY! I can’t wait to see him again. I know it hasn’t been long since we last saw each other, but I’m still happy and excited. As I mentioned in a previous journal entry, we’re likely going to go look at that apartment he found.

I went shopping today and bought a few things at Dolphin Mall. I bought the Angel Sanctuary series (it’s only three episodes long) and  a very cute hat at Hot Topic (which was the only thing worth buying there). I’m wearing the hat tomorrow when I go see Audi, so I’ll likely have pics of me wearing it. I’ll make sure to post some pics of the day… if there are any worth posting anyway. haha.

I’ve noticed that with this diet, it has not been difficult to give up the things I used to eat before. All the unhealthy things I loved have been easy to give up. I think it’s more willpower than anything else. I see the final goal and I use that as my driving force. For example, I thought it was going to be hard to stop eating mayonnaise, but it has been surprisingly easy. I just don’t add it to the sandwich and think about how good it will taste with the healthy substitutes instead. So, hopefully this will lead to shedding the pounds more efficiently. ;)

Oh, and I realized there is one slight problem with my lovely new iPhone cover. It seems that the jack in my car does not quite fit since the hole i the case for the jack input… is too small. Audi tells me the reason for this is because the case was probably meant for the first generation iPhone, hence why it is smaller. Great. However, he tells me that there is an adapter for it, and it usually runs really cheap. My next purchase! The only downfall is that I can’t answer the phone when the adapter is on, but who cares? I’m using it for the jack in my car, so I don’t need to be talking on the phone while I’m driving, anyway.

Well, I have nothing more to share so… ciao.

Today was a good day.

July 27th, 2009

I got two things in the mail that I had been waiting anxiously for.

img_5570smallerThe first was this awesome protective case for my iPhone. I got it on Ebay for about 8 bucks and it is just gorgeous.  I took a picture of it, just because I wanted to show it off. ;) I now have four different cases for my iPhone, so I don’t think I will be buying any more for a while. My problem was that I really liked the case I had before, but it was too busy. I wanted something that had flair, but much more subdued. I saw this cover, then, and I thought, “That’s a lot nicer than the one I have.” Little did I realize how much perfect it was going to be than I originally thought. The design parts are actually transparent. So, unless you’re shining a bright light on the case (like I did in the photo), you see through the cross to the iPhone below. Awesome, huh? Plus, the texture of the plastic almost feels like leather, so yea… it was DEFINITELY worth 8 bucks.

The other thing I got in the mail was….. MY DIPLOMA! Yes yes yes, I am a certified graduate of University of Florida with a Bachelor of Fine Art. YAY! I was so worried that something would go wrong with my credits, but everything happened as I hoped it would. I am DONE (well, until I decide to go to Graduate school, anyway). I would take a picture of it, but it has my real name on it so… No no. Sorry, folks! However, I am sure you can all imagine that it’s very pretty and quite big. =X I am going shopping tomorrow (later today?) to find a nice frame for it. :D

Oh, and the song I’m currently hooked on?

Up, up and away!

May 31st, 2009

So I saw the movie Up today with my friends Sam, Dustin, and Dustin’s wife Carolina. I have to say, the movie was not at all what I originally expected. I mean, I knew it was about an old man and a kid going off in some balloon-powered house on an adventure to a lost land, but it truly exceeded my expectations. I’m not gonna lie, I cried like a wimp in some of the scenes. It’s not a sad movie, it just touches your heart and blows your mind. We also made sure to see it in 3-D, and man, that was an experience. I think the last time I had used 3-D glasses, I was 13 or 14 and used them to watch Saturday morning cartoons that were in 3-D. Haha. 12 years!

Anyway, there’s not much else to tell, other than I’ve been making a lot of new art. Check out my main site so you can see some of the new work I’ve done. =)

Three days of non-stop action.

December 28th, 2008

My God, I have been BUSY lately. I apologize for not sitting down and writing a blog (as if anyone is likely to comment on this anyway), but I have been moving and shaking from the 25th to the 27th. Here’s the (somewhat) quick rundown.

One day, in a nutshell.

December 19th, 2008

What kind of love is this that keeps me
hanging on
despite everything it’s doing to me
what is this love that keeps me coming
back for more
when it will only end in misery

-Sarah McLachlan

I’m just going to come right out and say it. I feel pretty shitty. I’m tired, frustrated, and angry. I just don’t understand why everything I give just isn’t enough. :boiling: I’m not some goddamn coat to put on and take off whenever people want, you know? I’m a real friend, and if someone tells me I’m their best friend, I expect to be treated like one. I understand that life isn’t meant to be easy. However, some people are just so oblivious to what they do to others. Does everything need to be spelled out? Do I need to be breaking down in tears for the message to come through? All my patience, my understanding, my concern, and my love… was it all for nothing? I don’t want to believe that’s true.

*sigh*

On a somewhat more positive note, I spent some time with my best friend, Chris. (The above rant is not about him). We went to the mall and saw Transporter 3. It was half good, half bad. The action and fight scenes were absolutely out-of-this world amazing. But the plot… eh, not so much. I won’t spoil the movie, but let’s just say this: Yea, it’s another movie about THAT. :/ Regardless, it was worth the 6 bucks (student discount, baby).

As you can with the quote above, I’ve been in a Sarah McLachlan mood this evening. Her album Fumbling Towards Ecstasy is just amazing. All the songs, for some odd reason, seem to fit in perfectly with what I’m currently going through. Hmm… interesting. Anyway, I highly recommend listening to that album hell, ANY album from McLachlan.

Hopefully, I’ll be spending time with Audi tomorrow. *crosses fingers*

And as a final note, for all you Mencia fans… sorry to break it to you, but he’s a completely self-absorbed hack and bold-faced, back-handed liar.

Random tidbits…

December 18th, 2008

I’ve noticed that it’s always so much easier for me to shop for my family than it is to shop for my friends. I hang out with my friends more, and I never know what to get them! I always have to call up their significant others or call other friends for suggestions. *sigh* I can’t wait for Christmas, though. This year, I’ve finally had sufficient funds to buy everyone in my list at least one nice gift. :) I also bought a gift for an internet buddy of mine. She and I are both members of DeviantART and she desperately wanted a subscription so she could test out the new profile layouts DA has set up. I had some money in my DA account, so I used it to buy her three months.

Call me a nerd if you want, but the latest chapter of the Bleach manga is AMAZING. We finally get to find out some very important information, and see some lovely sights. This is not really a spoiler, but Halibel’s mask is absolutely amazing (and incredibly sexy). I think the reason why it’s so sexy is… the way it was drawn. Her body position and her facial expression just scream power and rage. Mwahahah…. *cough* Anyway…

I’ve been completely hooked on my Eurodance mp3′s. The funny thing is that my dad was the one who introduced me to Eurodance. LOL. Yes, my dad has great taste in music. ;) I’ve linked some of my favorite tracks below so you all can check them out:

2 Unlimited – Twilight Zone

Abigail – Don’t You Wanna Know?

Ace of Base – Living in Danger

Alexia Phillips – I Never Needed

Baby D – Let Me Be your Fantasy

Captain Hollywood – More & More

Deuce – Call it Love

Double You – Run to Me

Dr Alban – It’s my Life

Fun Factory – Close to You

La Bouche – Be My Lover

Snap! – Rhythm is a Dancer

Technotronic – Move it to the Rhythm

Enjoy, folks!
