And things were going so well…

March 7th, 2010

It seems that fate has a wonderful sense of humor. Apparently, things were going too well for fate’s taste, so it felt the need to sprinkle a little shit on my epic ice cream sundae.

My hard drive failed. At first, I thought it was just my computer being overloaded with activity, and getting a bit frozen (ah, gotta love PCs!). But no, turns out the hard drive finally decided to retire. So, I’m just gonna try to salvage the few files I’d created in the short time since the re-format, and then just buy a new hard drive. I’d rather buy a new hard drive rather than a new tower, since I’d rather have Windows XP and not Windows 7. However, hopefully with this new job, I’ll be able to buy myself a Mac instead. We’ll see.

I’m definitely not as stressed out as I was during my last computer troubles. This is more of an annoyance than anything else (currently typing this on my iPhone’s WordPress app, btw).

Anyway, here’s to hoping I get a comp again some time soon. Ciao!

I know how that is. I had that happen to my computer awhile back. I was so angry. I lost a few artworks I had been working on, but thank god I had most of the older ones on a different hard drive. I now have back up files of everything because I’m afraid of losing important files like that. I hope you can salvage as much as you can.

I have all my music/artwork on my external drive, and the majority of my important from the computer’s HD are still backed up on there as well. So, IF any data is lost, it won’t be too much (thank goodness).

When I started reading this, I thought at first you were going to say something got messed up with your new job–I’m glad that’s not the case!

Not that computer problems are good either … but it sounds like it’s really a best-case scenario so far as computer problems go. (Hey, at least you didn’t catch your motherboard on fire! … I might have done that once.)

LOL! Oh my gosh, yea, I am verrry glad it didn’t burst into flames! No, so far the job is a lot of fun. There’s nothing better than getting paid to do what you enjoy. ;D

Time to join the Apple Nation soon. I’m about ready to make the switch once I get my scholarship refund. xD

Yea, I’m hoping I can make the switch as well now that I have a job. =/
